Overview

In a traditional middle-class milieu in today's society, it is interesting to observe the two mail offspring squabble amongst themselves as to who should take care of their ageing parents. Younger son aa such is extremely self-centred and would like to avoid taking their responsibility in any manner possible. The younger daughter in-law advises her spouse not to be riddled with any of such responsibilities and to always skirt around the family issues. The elder son has been taking the responsibilities through thick and thin. The younger son and daughter in-law are staying separately. The elder sibling decides to take up a bigger space on rent so as to accommodate the parents and the care taker for the elderly. Fortunately they also find one in the minimal rent bracket. The land Lord is kind enough to reduce the rent because of the elder son's responsibilities towards his parents. Over the passage of time the parents fall ill one after another. The elder son and his wife misconstrue the offered reduced rent due to so-called foundational error of the house and would like to go for a correctional propitiation with a puja. Meanwhile so much of water has passed by. Both the sons fought with each other regarding the responsibilities of the parents. Eventually they decide to lodge their parents in an old age home. When the new and would be landlord is briefed about the attitude of the sons he refuses to rent out the house and returns the advanced money.
